Posted: Updated:

MILLSBORO, Del. - Police are searching for the suspect in a Thursday night robbery attempt and assault at a Millsboro business.

Millsboro police say a man entered the Millsboro Family Dollar just before 8:30 p.m. and demanded that an employee open the cash register. When the employee was unable to do so, police say the suspect displayed a handgun and then hit the employee in the head with it.

According to police, the suspect then forced the employee to the back of the store. Another employee reportedly heard what was going on and saw the suspect before the suspect left through the front door.

Police say the suspect then took off in a two-door, silver, compact car with a black decal on the side resembling a Nike logo. The suspect is described as a black man, between 5-foot-9 and 6-feet tall, wearing a black ski mask and black clothing.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the Millsboro Police at 302-934-8174. Information can also be provided by calling Delaware Crime Stoppers at, 1-800-Tip-3333 or at http://www.delaware.crimestoppersweb.com.
