SNOW HILL, Md.- Some welcome good news for drivers taking Snow Hill Road. The Maryland State Highway Administration expects to reopen MD 12 (Snow Hill Road) at Mt. Olive Branch Road, weather permitting on Friday.

SHA said crews have finished an extensive pipe replacement project that began several weeks ago when heavy rains washed out a section of the roadway over the old pipe, forcing an emergency closure.

Neighbors around the area are breathing a collective sigh of relief and are very happy the road closure is coming to an end.

Andrea Schmucki said, "Couldn't be happier because it certainly will be less of a burden on us and other families."

Bonnie Baker said, "It's just an inconvenience, so I'll be happy for tomorrow."

State Highway Officials said the cost of repairs to the damaged section is estimated at $1 million.
