Caroline Co. Detectives Uncover Teenagers' Plot to Kill Four

Posted: Updated:

DENTON, Md. - Two teenagers in Caroline County have been arrested after police say they plotted to kill a Denton woman.

Deputies from the Caroline County Sheriff's Office say Jammie Porter contacted them on Oct. 24 to report the plot. They say Porter provided detectives with an electronic device that contained text messages between two 15-year-olds who were planning to kill Porter and three other people she lived with.

The sheriff's office was able to search the device and discovered a conversation between the 15-year-olds that showed one of them asking the other to commit the murders. According to the sheriff's office, the messages described how and when the murder would take place and how much money one of the teenagers would pay the other to commit the murders over a two-week period.

According to deputies, on the evening the murders were supposed to take place, the teenagers were caught by one of the people Porter lived with, and they ran away. The sheriff's office says the plan included setting fire to the home while the four people were sleeping. Evidence of the murder plot was found at the teenagers' home and seized.

The 15-year-olds are being held at a juvenile facility in Maryland on charges of attempted murder and attempted arson.
