Milton Woman Charged in Two Separate Incidents

Posted: Updated:

MILFORD, Del. - A Milton woman has been arrested following two separate incidents, one involving the use of someone else's car and the other involving stolen checks, according to police.

Thirty six-year-old Paula Griffin of Milton was charged on Tuesday.

Police said the first incident happened back on Oct. 12 when Griffin reportedly used a car without the owner's consent and did not return it.

The second incident happened on Nov. 7 when police said Griffin attempted to cash a pair of checks at an M&T Bank in Milford, which raised the staff's suspicions and led them to alert police. Further investigation revealed the checks were missing from a Milton home, in an incident under investigation by Milton police.

On Tuesday, police took Griffin into custody and charged her with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle,  two counts of forgery, theft and attempted theft by false pretense and receiving stolen property.

Griffin's bail was set at $3,000, according to police. She is scheduled for an arraignment on the motor vehicle charge on Dec. 19 and for a preliminary hearing on the other charges on Dec. 2.
