DOVER, Del.- Two Dover men entered guilty pleas in Kent County Superior Court for their roles in the shooting death of another man during a marijuana deal that turned into a robbery and homicide.

Twenty-year-old Damier Harmon and 21-year-old Bruce Manlove were accused of trying to rob 19-year-old Gary Adams in the Walker Woods neighborhood in May 2015.  Prosecutors said the three began to fight, and Adams was shot.

Harmon pleaded guilty to second degree murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and faces 18 years to life in prison. Manlove pleaded guilty to first degree robbery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and faces up to 50 years in prison.

Both men will be sentenced in February.

Nearly Half of July's Overdoses Were in Sussex County

The opioid epidemic continues to ravage the nation, including here in Sussex County where nearly half of the deaths from drug overdoses this month are from Delaware's southern-most county.

The recent spike has prompted a state warning specifically targeted at heroin users. According to the release, the uptick may be the result of heroin being laced with fentanyl, a synthetic opioid much more powerful than most drugs.
