Code Purple Shelters to Open Wednesday Through Sunday

SUSSEX/KENT COUNTY, Del. - Code Purple shelters in Sussex and Kent Counties will open on Wednesday night and remain open until Sunday morning.

The following is a list of shelter locations and intake information:

Sussex

  • Milford: Avenue United Methodist Church, 20 N. Church Street. In-take is at 7 p.m. Dinner will be provided. Men only.
  • Georgetown: Shepherd’s Office House, 408 N. Bedford Street. In-take is from 5 p.m.to 6 p.m. Dinner is served at 6:30. Men only.
  • Bridgeville: Gateway Fellowship, 8110 Cannon Road. In-take is at 7 p.m. Dinner will be provided. Men, women and children.

The following sanctuaries will be open for men only:

  • Dover: Presbyterian Church. Enter on Reed Street - 5 p.m.
  • Smyrna: Centennial Church - 5 p.m.

The following sanctuaries will be open for women and children:

  • Smyrna: Wesleyan Church - 5 p.m.
  • Milford: Milford Community Center - 5 p.m.
  • Dover: Wesley Church - enter on North Street - opens Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
  • Dover: Christ Church - enter on State Street- opens Friday at 5 p.m.
