MILFORD, Del. - A Lincoln man has been arrested following an investigation into a forgery at a local bank.

According to Milford police, 22-year-old Christopher Thomas is suspected of entering a Milford area bank on Wednesday and attempting to cash a check that appeared suspicious to the bank employee.

Police said bank staff notified police, who determined the transaction was fraudulent and that Thomas had made another fraudulent transaction from the same account the day before.

Further investigation showed Thomas was in possession of 11 grams of marijuana, according to police. He was arrested and charged with two counts of second-degree forgery, possession of marijuana, attempted theft and receiving stolen property.

Bail for Thomas was set at $7,250 unsecured. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing at the Kent County Court of Common Pleas on Dec. 16.
