Updated: Maryland State Police Make Arrest in Pocomoke City Murder

POCOMOKE CITY, Md.– Maryland State Police have arrested a man in connection with the Dec. 1 murder of 26-year-old James Allen Jr. in Pocomoke City.

According to police, 36-year-old Anthony M. Tunnell, of Mappsville, Va., was arrested without incident at a hotel in Salisbury at around 7 a.m. Sunday. Tunnel is charged with first- and second-degree murder, manslaughter and other drug-related criminal charges.

On Dec. 1, Allen, of Pocomoke City, was found at the corner of Market and 4th streets with multiple gun shot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Tunnel is currently being held at the Wicomico County Detention Center. Bond information was not yet available.
