Salisbury Teen Charged With Robbing Taxi Driver

SALISBURY, Md.- Detectives have arrested a Salisbury teen accused of holding up a taxi driver in July. 

According to the Wicomico County Sheriff's Office's Criminal Investigation Division, 17-year-old Craig Marvel Polk was taken into custody Dec. 22 and charged as an adult with armed robbery, robbery, first- and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, handgun on person, handgun in the use of a felony, possession of a firearm by minor and theft less then $100.

Authorities said that on July 13, the taxi driver stated he had picked up the suspect, later identified as Polk, from East Ruark Drive in Salisbury and then traveled to the 1500 block of Barton Avenue where Polk pulled out a handgun and forced the driver to hand over his money.

Following Polk's arrest on the aforementioned charges, Polk was taken to the Wicomico County Detention Center on $50,000 bond but after a bond review Polk was released on $15,000 bond.
