Carney Releases Schedule for Inaugural Festivities

WILMINGTON, Del. (AP/WBOC)- Delaware Gov.-elect John Carney and Lt. Gov.-elect Bethany Hall-Long have released the schedule for festivities surrounding the inauguration.
    
The inauguration ceremony itself will be held Jan. 17 at Legislative Hall, but the festivities get started the Saturday before with a celebration of the arts in Rehoboth Beach. The event at Clear Space Theatre is free and will include works and performances representing the talents of Delaware.
    
On Sunday, a celebration of the arts will be held in Wilmington. The free event will be held at P.S. DuPont Middle School Auditorium.
    
Before the inaugural ceremony on Tuesday, an interfaith prayer service will be held at Whatcoat United Methodist Church in Dover.
    
An inaugural celebration will be held Tuesday night at the Rollins Center at Dover Downs.

CELEBRATION OF THE ARTS

The Celebration of the Arts events will include works and performances representing the talents of Delawareans. A complete list of artists and performers will be available soon. Admission is free. Attendees are encouraged to RSVP and bring a non-perishable good. All contributions will help feed the hungry in Sussex County.

Sunday, Jan. 15, 2017

CELEBRATION OF THE ARTS

Admission is free. Attendees are encouraged to RSVP and bring a children’s book. All contributions will be donated to the United Way of Delaware’s “My Very Own Library” program.

INTERFAITH PRAYER SERVICE

All are welcome to attend the pre-Inaugural prayer service.

When: 9 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2017 

Where: Whatcoat United Methodist Church, 341 Saulsbury Road, Dover, DE

INAUGURATION CEREMONY

Gov.-elect Carney and Lt. Gov.-elect Bethany Hall-Long will greet the public at Legislative Hall following the Inauguration ceremony.

When: 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan.17, 2017

Where: Legislative Mall, Dover, DE

Weather:        In the event of extremely inclement weather, the Inauguration Ceremony will be moved to Central Middle School Auditorium, 211 Delaware Ave., Dover, DE. Any location change will be sent by 7 a.m. on Jan. 17. 

INAUGURAL CELEBRATION

Registration is required by Jan. 6, 2017. Attendees can REGISTER HERE.

Monica Snee, 51, of Salisbury was released from prison after posting $50,000 bond. A district court judge revoked the bond and issued a bench warrant today. As a result, deputies located and arrested Snee in the area of Westbrook Drive in Salisbury.
