REHOBOTH BEACH, Del.- Police in Rehoboth Beach say a Laurel woman was arrested after punching another woman in the face over a parking spot.

Twenty-year-old Nakala Spencer was arrested on Saturday after hitting a woman who tried to pull into a parking spot Spencer was trying to save, according to investigators. Police said Spencer lost her temper, and punched the 52-year-old woman, who is from Parkton, Md.

Police said the woman tried to pull into a parking space where Spencer was standing at about 6:30 p.m. Police said Spencer refused to move despite a city ordinance forbidding the practice of pedestrians saving parking spaces for vehicles, and punched the woman twice in the face, throwing her phone to the ground. Police said Spencer fled the scene, but officers were quickly able to find and arrest her.

Spencer was charged with offensive touching and disorderly contact and released on a $1,000 bond.
