Police Search for Suspects Who Robbed Man Doing His Laundry in Dover

Posted: Updated:

DOVER, Del.- Police are looking for a group of suspects who held up a man unloading laundry from his car in Dover Wednesday afternoon.

Delaware State Police say two male suspects approached the victim at North Gate Laundromat at 1140 South Bay Road around 4:30 p.m.

One of the suspects motioned towards his pants, indicating to the victim that he might have had a gun. The suspects then demanded the victim's property, according to police.

Troopers said the suspects then took a cellphone, keys, and another electronic device from the victim's car before jumping into a vehicle with a third suspect.

The vehicle was parked at South Bay Road (US113) near Lafferty Lane. The victim was uninjured, police said.

The first suspect was described as a black male between 25-30 years of age, between 5-foot-5 and 5-foot-10, and 140-145 pounds. He was wearing a white T-shirt and dark pants and may have been armed.

The second suspect was described as a black male between 20-25 years old, 5 foot 7 inches - 5 foot 8 inches in height, and weighing between 135-140 pounds. He was last seen wearing a red tank top. Police are unsure if he was armed.

The driver was described as a Hispanic male between 30-35 years old, about 6-foot tall and about 230 pounds. He was last seen wearing an orange T-shirt and driving a newer model Mercury or Lincoln passenger vehicle with New Jersey license plates.

Anyone with information are asked to call the Troop 3 Major Crimes Unit at 302-697-2104 or Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333. They can also report the crime at www.delaware.crimestoppersweb.com or by sending an anonymous tip by text to 274637 (CRIMES) using the keyword "DSP."
