Fire Damages Somerset County Home

MARION STATION, Md.- Firefighters responded to a Tuesday afternoon house fire in Somerset County that caused tens of thousands of dollars in damage, according to the Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office. 

Deputy state fire marshal's said the vacant two-story home on Wayman Road in Marion Station took 20 minutes to put out after a passer-by discovered the first floor of the dwelling was in flames. 

The home suffered an estimated $20,000 in structural damage and $5,000 in content damage, but no one was hurt, according to authorities.

Investigators determined an incendiary sparked the blaze. Anyone with additional information about this incident is asked to contact the Lower Eastern Regional Office of the State Fire Marshal at 410-713-3780.
