Delaware Fugitive Caught Hitchhiking in Mardela Springs

MARDELA SPRINGS, Md.- The Wicomico County Sheriff's Office is sending a fugitive back to Delaware after she was found hitchhiking along Route 50 in Mardela Springs.

The Sheriff's Office said 46-year-old Tiffani Abbott of Greenwood, Del., was discovered early Monday morning on Route 50.  While running a query on her, a deputy found that she was wanted in Delaware for hindering an investigation and filing a false felony report.

The Wicomico sheriff's deputy arrested Abbott and charged her as a fugitive in Delaware.  

Abbott is being held at the Wicomico County Detention Center pending her extradition back to Delaware.

    A scary scene on the Ocean City beach Sunday afternoon after a Pennsylvania woman was wounded by a windswept umbrella. Ocean City Beach Patrol said the incident happened on the 54th Street beach, and they received the call just after 3 p.m. Beach Patrol said an unattended umbrella swept by the wind pierced the woman's skin on her upper left chest. However, Captain Butch Arbin who was on scene said it was a non-life threatening injury.
