Pedestrian Struck By Car in Kent County

A man was hit by a car Friday night in Frederica. A man was hit by a car Friday night in Frederica.

FREDERICA, Del.-  A Milford man is recovering after being struck by a car in Kent County, police said.

According to police, it happened a little after 9 p.m. Friday.

Jennifer Valentine, of Pennsylvania, was traveling northbound on Bay Road, approaching Milford Neck Road in Frederica, police said.

David Cane, 41, was standing partially in the right lane when he was hit, police said.

Cane was treated for his injuries at the scene before being taken to Bayhealth Milford Memorial Hospital for injuries that were not life-threatening, according to police.

Cane was cited for failure to carry a light on a public roadway.

Valentine and her passengers were properly restrained at the time of the crash and were not injured, police said.
