GEORGETOWN, Del.- Georgetown police have arrested a 56-year-old Millsboro man they say was caught in the act of burglarizing a vehicle.

Henry Young is charged with third-degree burglary and theft under $1,50

Police said Young's arrest stemmed from an incident that occurred July 5, when officers were dispatched to the 500 block of North Bedford Street for a possible theft in progress complaint.

Police said reports indicated that a man on a bicycle was seen looking inside vehicles and even entered one, removing items. Police said as officers arrived on the scene, they spotted a man matching the description of the suspect.

Officers began to approach the man, identified as Young, who they say began to throw items on the ground. Officers later learned that those items had been stolen from a vehicle on North Bedford Street.

Following his arrest on the aforementioned charges, Young was arraigned and committed to Sussex Correctional Center in lieu of $1,000 secured bond.

Georgetown police encourage all residents to keep their vehicles locked and secured. Also, any valuables should either be removed from the vehicle or placed out of sight. Police ask that anyone who believes they have had items taken from their vehicle or that someone has attempted to take items, to file a report with the department.
