Milton Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Bust

MILTON, Del.- Milton police say officers arrested a 21-year-old Dover man after he was found in possession of drugs, drug paraphernalia and suspected drug money following a traffic stop.

Police were conducting patrol duties, when one officer observed a red Kia Optima on Harbeson Road make a traffic violation.

Officers said that after stopping the vehicle, they detected the odor of marijuana coming from it.

A Milton police K9 team scanned the vehicle, which investigators said resulted positive for the odor of narcotics on several locations, inside and outside the vehicle.

Upon further investigation, officers located approximately 31 grams of marijuana, a drug scale and $2,637 in suspected drug proceeds.

Police said the driver, identified as Robert R. Knox was charged with the following drug offenses:

  • Possession of marijuana
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia

He was also cited with the following motor vehicle violations:

  • Speeding
  • Driving while license was suspended
  • Possession of a suspended license
  • Failure to have insurance identification

Knox was released on a $2,500 unsecured bond pending a future court date.
