SALISBURY, Md.- After a man dropped drugs at a chicken barbecue on Saturday, police were able to arrest him when he returned to retrieve them a second time, according to the Wicomico County Sheriff's Office.

Police said 41-year-old Hubert C. Herring of Temperanceville, Va., dropped drugs in the parking lot. The drugs were later identified as oxycodone and cocaine.  When deputies arrived on the scene, Herring was not found and police left when they couldn't locate him.

After leaving the barbecue event on Snow Hill Road, without the drugs, deputies said they were able to return to arrest Herring when he reportedly returned for a second time to retrieve the baggie of drugs.

During their investigation police said Herring admitted to dropping the baggie without knowing.  After his arrest police said they found additional drug paraphernalia with marijuana and a smoking device with Herring.

Herring was released on personal recognizance after he was charged with possession of CDS for cocaine, possession of CDS for oxycodone and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to the Wicomico County Sheriff's Office.
