Drugs Found in Easton Car

EASTON, Md- On June 29, deputies from the Talbot County Sheriff's office with assistance from the Talbot County Narcotics Task Force and members of the Maryland State Police stopped a motor vehicle on Matthewstown Road for moving violations. The driver was identified as Brandi Nicole Payne, 35 of Easton, MD. Talbot County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Fred was deployed to conduct an open air sniff of the vehicle which resulted in a positive alert for the presence of a controlled substance.

After a probable cause search of the vehicle, deputies located 141 packets of heroin, individually wrapped in white wax paper folds. The Talbot County Sheriffs Office says, Payne was charged with possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute, possession of a controlled substance. Payne was taken before a District Court Commissioner and released on an unsecured bond.
