BERLIN, Md.-  An ATV driver suffered minor injuries after a crop duster pilot attempted to land at an airfield in Worcester County on Sunday morning, Maryland State Police said.

Drew Eckman, 23, of Berlin was taken by the pilot of the crop duster to Atlantic General Hospital, police said.

The pilot of the plane has been identified as Christopher Bunting, 25, of Berlin. He was not injured in the accident, police said.

Shortly before 11 a.m., police responded to the hospital after reports that Eckman was struck by an aircraft at Bunting's Airfield in Berlin.

Eckman told police he had just completed an inspection of one of the crop dusting planes at the airfield and was driving an ATV on the runway. He noticed the plane and had attempted to get out of the way, but he was struck and thrown from it, police said.

Bunting got out of the plane and immediately transported Eckman to the hospital, police said.

According to police, nothing was suspicious about the incident and no charges are pending at this time.
