Tornado Destroys Homes in Stevensville

STEVENSVILLE, Md.- Several homes in the Bay City area of Stevensville were left extremely damaged after a tornado.

The National Weather Service confirmed it was a tornado that ripped through Stevensville early Monday morning.

Strong winds toppled trees, ripped apart roofs and flattened a few homes, one of which was 83-year-old Louis Solano's.

Solanos roof was torn off of his house and he said it was something unlike anything he's ever seen before.

"And then another part of the ceiling fell down and then a lamp and I crawled out and I looked for some daylight and there was the daylight in the bedroom window and I think the windows gone and there was the grass and I jumped out. I had nothing on but an under shirt and my bare feet," Solano said.

But, Solano wasn't the only one whose house was damaged by the storm. Jessica Testerman said her house shifted several feet last night in the storm. So much so, she said she felt like she was nearly flying.

"Once we got into the tub it literally picked up and you could feel that we were being lifted and moved and I was telling my son to look out the window and see if we were flying it was that scary for me," Testerman said.

Solano and Testerman both agreed at the end of the day, they're just grateful no one was seriously injured.
