Dover Police Arrest Pizza Delivery Robbery Suspect

DOVER, Del - Dover police have arrested a suspect accused of robbing a pizza delivery employee.

James Jones, 18, was taken into custody on Wednesday afternoon.  

Police said the victim called officers shortly before 2 p.m and claimed Jones robbed him of an undisclosed amount of cash. Jones then ran into a home in the 400 block of East Water Street, according to police. 

Dover police quickly surrounded the home and took Jones into custody from inside the home.

Jones was charged with first-degree robbery and resisting arrest and ordered held int he James T. Vaughn Correctional Center on $50,500 cash bond.

    Salisbury Bypass Detour to Reopen Thursday

    The State Highway Administration estimates the Salisbury Bypass detour will reopen on Thursday. 

    The construction to the bridge over US 13 is scheduled to finish this week and will allow traffic to head southbound on the bypass. 

    The detour's closure will also allow SHA to remove the temporary traffic signals on Naylor Mill Road.
