SALISBURY, Md.- A man convicted of robbing the Hebron Savings Bank in Sharptown on two separate occasions has been sentenced to 41 years behind bars.

Authorities said that on Sept. 18 and Dec. 12, 2014, Benoit Constant, 30, robbed the bank, getting away with more than $40,000 on each occasion.

Investigators said that on both occasions, Constant entered the bank, disguised as an older, white male, brandished a weapon and demanded money from the tellers working at the bank.

During the September robbery, Constant also implied to the tellers that he had an explosive device and threatened to detonate it.

Maryland State Police and Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office detectives investigating the robberies located evidence, including a high quality latex disguise, a realistic looking BB gun, cash and DNA evidence on items near the scene that linked Constant to the crimes.

On Wednesday, a Wicomico County Circuit Court jury found Constant guilty of four counts of armed robbery, dangerous weapon wear/carry and threat of arson. He was subsequently sentenced to 41 years in prison.
