Pedestrian Struck, Killed in Dover

A Dover woman was arrested after providing officers with a fake name. A Dover woman was arrested after providing officers with a fake name.

DOVER, Del.-  The Dover Police Department Collision Reconstruction Team is investigating a deadly accident where a pedestrian was struck and killed Friday night.

Around 8:30 p.m., a 59-year-old man, whose name has not been released, crossed the northbound and southbound lanes of N. DuPont Highway from the east side of the road near Raceway Liquors, police said.

According to police, when the man attempted to cross the southbound lanes, he ran directly in front of a 2008 Toyota Sienna van.

The man died from his injuries, police said.

Officers cleared the scene around 11:30 p.m.
