REHOBOTH BEACH, Del.- A man has been located and arrested after a Gold Alert was issued for him in June, according to Delaware State Police.

Police said the Gold Alert was issued for 23-year-old Bradley A. Brown, of Seaford, after he made statements about harming himself in text messages to friends.

Brown was also wanted by Sussex County Superior Court for offensive touching and providing alcohol to a minor, according to police.

Police said after responding to a shoplifting call on Saturday night at a Wawa convenience store, troopers were able to locate Brown and arrest him.  Brown resisted arrest initially, but police said he was subdued and placed into the back of a patrol car.

Upon further investigation, police said they stepped away from the patrol car when Brown somehow defeated the safety divider window before he crawled out of the front driver's seat and fled.

Police said that following a Sunday afternoon tip, troopers were able to locate Brown at the Forgotten Mile Ale House in Rehoboth.  Police surrounded the business and when troopers entered the building, Brown ran to the back exit.

Police said that after a chase through some neighborhoods Brown was tasered and placed into custody.

Brown was transported to Troop 7 in Lewes and charged with theft, shoplifting, third-degree escape and two counts of resisting arrest.   He was arraigned on these charges as well as the two charges out of Sussex County Superior Court from June.

Brown was ordered held in Sussex Correctional Institution on a $4,000 secured bond.
