Remains Found Near Dover Identified

DOVER, Del.- Delaware State Police have released the name of the person found in a wooded area near Dover last month. 

The person has been identified as Linda C. Moore, 40, of Charlotte, North Carolina, police said.

The investigation began June 15 when human remains were discovered as a someone walked through the wooded area east of Leipsic Road near Marley Lane, WBOC previously reported. 

The person who found the remains contacted troopers working the Firefly Music Festival to notify them, police said.

According to police, detectives responded to the scene and confirmed them to be human skeletal remains.

Based on the investigation and confirmation through dental records, the remains were positively identified as Moore, police said.

Her death has been ruled "undetermined," police said.
