Two Arrested, Dog Euthanized Following Search in Dover

DOVER, Del.- Two men were arrested Wednesday after police searched a home in the 100 Block of Alonzo Drive in Dover. 

According to the Dover Police Department, a search warrant was issued and officers discovered three 9 millimeter handguns, various ammunition and 20.3 grams of marijuana.

During the search, Khalil Seward attempted to avoid arrest by using a large, aggressive dog against officers, police said.

Officers were forced to euthanize the dog, according to police.

Seward, 19, was charged with illegal gang participation, possession of a firearm and ammunition by a person prohibited, use of animal to avoid capture, resisting arrest and possession of marijuana, police said.

Equan Barber, 22, was charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and resisting arrest with force.
