CAMBRIDGE, Md.- Cambridge police say they have arrested two juveniles after catching them in the act of slashing a vehicle's tire before entering it and stealing money. Police are now investigating the pair's possible connection to a recent series of tire slashings.

Police said an off-duty Cambridge police officer noticed the two juveniles acting suspicious in a parking lot Sunday afternoon.

The officer said the two were pulling on door handles in an attempt to get inside the vehicles. The officer also noticed one of them bending down and slashing a tire of a pickup truck.

The officer was then able to detain one of the juveniles. When another patrol unit arrived, officers were able to locate the other who wasn't far away.

Police said the two were able to enter inside one of the vehicles and took change out of it. Both were arrested and charged with theft and vandalism and released back to the custody of their guardians.

The police department is working to find out if the two are involved with other tire slashings that happened earlier this week.
