Woman Arrested for Stealing Cotton Candy at Sharptown Carnival

SHARPTOWN, Md.- A woman was arrested Sunday afternoon after police discovered her helping herself to cotton candy at the Sharptown Carnival, according to the Wicomico County Sheriff's Office.

Police said 26-year-old Courtney S. Atkins, of Georgetown, Del., was in a closed building on the carnival grounds eating three bags of cotton candy. 

Atkins was arrested on charges of second-degree burglary and theft, according to the Wicomico County Sheriff's Office. She was taken before the District Court Commissioner and released on a $20,000 unsecured bond.
