EDEN, Md.- An Eden man was arrested on Friday morning after he tried to sell marijuana to two people, then stole the people's car with them inside, according to Maryland State Police.

MSP said 28-year-old Raymond Warren Mathis went to the Eden Shell gas station to sell marijuana to two people.  Mathis told the two he had a gun and ordered them to get into their car before he stole it.

Police said they were performing a traffic stop when they tried to pull Mathis over.  Mathis tried to cross over a ditch, but failed and tried to run away.

After police caught Mathis, they discovered 334 grams of marijuana in his backpack, according to MSP.  Mathis was arrested and removed from the scene before police located the two victims inside the car.

MSP said Mathis was charged with driving under the influence, possession of marijuana, possession with intent to distribute, robbery, kidnapping and auto theft.

Mathis is being held without bond at the Somerset County Detention Center where he was remanded, according to MSP.
