MILLSBORO, Del.- The Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating a car crash in Millsboro that killed 26-year-old Jesse J. Hendrix of Seaford.

The accident happened just before 10 p.m. Friday, when Hendrix was driving a 2015 Dodge Dart eastbound on Nine Foot Road. According to police, Hendrix was speeding.

Police say Hendrix lost control of his car when following a gradual curve and began to slid off the road. After over correcting his car, he ended up crashing into a ditch after overturning the vehicle several times.

Hendrix, who troopers said was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the accident, was pronounced dead at the scene according to police.

Nine Foot Road was closed for approximately two-and-a-half hours while the crash was investigated and cleared.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact Cpl. J. Burns of the Sussex County Collision Reconstruction Unit at 302-703-3266.
