TOWSON, Md.- The Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services has launched a major effort to provide supplies to victims of Hurricane Katrina.
Effective immediately, the general public can drop off nonperishable food and critical supplies (see list below) at five locations across the state. State Use Industries, the Division of Correction’s prison industry arm, has trailers on-site. They will be staffed by correctional personnel from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. every day.
Western Correctional Institution
McMullen Highway (U.S. 220 south) in Cresaptown, 3 miles below I-68
Maryland Correctional Training Center
Roxbury Road east of Md. route 65 south of Hagerstown
Maryland House of Correction
House of Correction Road near the gatehouse just off Md. route 175 in Jessup
Metropolitan Transition Center in Baltimore
Near the intersection of E. Madison and Forrest streets just off Greenmount Ave.
Eastern Correctional Institution
Revells Neck Road just off U.S. 13 in Westover, south of Princess Anne

BABY NEEDS (WIPES, BLANKETS, PULL-UPS)
FIRST AID SUPPLIES
NON-PERISHABLE FOOD ITEMS
PERSONAL HYGIENE ITEMS (SOAP, SHAMPOO, ETC.)
No clothing or cash will be accepted. Bulk items in unopened cases are welcomed.
