Woman Arrested After Assaulting Boyfriend & Kicking Officer

REHOBOTH BEACH, Del.- Rehoboth Beach police say a woman is facing charges after assaulting her boyfriend and kicking an officer who responded to their domestic dispute.

Police responded to the Country Club Estates on Sandalwood Street Saturday night after a 25-year-old man reported he was bleeding from his forehead. The man told police his had been punched multiple times in the head by his girlfriend, Erin Chisenhall, 24. 

Police found Chisenhall nearby, where police say she was reportedly intoxicated. Upon attempting to arrest Chisenhall, police report she ignored their commands to comply and attempted to walk away. As she was being taken into custody,  Chisenhall reportedly kicked one of the responding officers in the leg multiple times; she was eventually arrested and the officer was not injured.

Police charged Chisenhall with with one count of felony resisting arrest with force or violence, one misdemeanor count of offensive touching of a law enforcement officer, one misdemeanor count of third-degree assault, and one misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct.  

She was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in lieu of $1,800 cash secured bail.

    Maryland State Police are investigating a deadly car crash Friday afternoon. It happened at the intersection of White Lowe Road and Route 50 shortly before 3 p.m. According to MSP, Maria Theresia Ellis, 77 of Ocean City, was driving on White Lowe Road when her car failed to yield to oncoming traffic as she turned onto Route 50. Police said Ellis's car was hit in a T-bone like manner by Garrett Adrian Pusey, 20 of Mardela Springs.
