Police: Two Injured in Laurel Shooting, Investigation Ongoing

Posted: Jul 12, 2018 4:50 PM Updated:

LAUREL, Del.- Delaware State Police say they're investigating a shooting that injured two people, one seriously, at an apartment complex earlier this week.

It happened just before 11:45 p.m. Monday at the 200 building of the Carvel Gardens Apartments.

Police said officers with the Laurel Police department and troopers found an 18-year-old Laurel man on the ground with what seemed to be a gunshot wound to the head. He was taken to Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford, where police said he is still in critical condition.

A second victim, a 22-year-old man who ran from the scene, was later taken to the hospital for cuts to his hand and face. He has been treated and released.

DSP said preliminary investigations indicate the shooting happened after a dispute between multiple people, but police are still working to determine who shot the victim.

The investigation is ongoing. Police ask anyone with more information to contact Detective K. Archer at 302-752-3791, or Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333.
