GEORGETOWN, Del.– An inmate at Sussex Correctional Institution in Georgetown is charged with falsely reporting that a correctional officer raped him late last year.
Inmate Oscar Williams filed the false rape claim against an officer at SCI in December 2017, according to Department of Correction officials.
Williams accused the officer of sexually assaulting him in a bathroom located within his housing unit. Authorities said that after an investigation, it was revealed that Williams fabricated the claim and the case was then turned over to Delaware State Police.
Williams was charged with one count of falsely reporting an incident. Williams pleaded guilty in Superior Court and was sentenced to one year level 5 and is not allowed to have any contact with the officer.
