Wicomico Drug Bust Leads to 2 Arrests

PARSONSBURG, Md.- After several months of investigation, police in Wicomico County arrested two men accused of distributing controlled dangerous substances around Parsonsburg and Pittsville.

The Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office Community Action Team was called to action in response to numerous complaints from members of the community regarding the activity. Deputies identified 40-year-old Jermaine Michael Mathias as the suspect involved.

In the early morning hours of Aug. 3, deputies executed a search and seizure warrant at Mathias' home at the 7400 block of Rachel Lane in Parsonsburg. Once inside, deputies found Mathias along with 24-year-old Rodney Dale, the other occupant of the home.

Deputies said they located 39 grams of suspected cocaine, 172 grams of marijuana, a digital scale, packaging materials, cutting agents, sifters and grinders, approximately 1 gram of heroin, and an amount of cash. As a result of the investigation, Deputies arrested Mathias and Dale.

Mathias was charged with CDS possession with intent to distribute, CDS: possession of marijuana - more than 10 grams, two counts of CDS possession- not marijuana, CDS: possession with intent to distribute: narcotic and illegal possession of ammo.

Dale was charged with CDC possession with intent to distribute and CDS: possession of marijuana - more than 10 grams.
