Chesapeake Film Festival Scheduled for October

EASTON, Md. -- 48 films in four days, bringing filmmakers and film lovers together to the Delmarva Midshore.

The 2018 Chesapeake Film Festival kicks off Thursday, October 11th at the Academy Art Museum in Easton with the Whet Your Appetite reception where attendees will get a chance to enjoy dishes and desserts from seven local eateries Gourmet by the Bay, The Wylder Hotel, Stars Restaurant from the Inn at Perry Cabin, Limoncello Italian Restaurant and Wine Bar, The Bistro St. Michaels, Flying Fork Catering, and Scossa Restaurant and Lounge.

The appetite for food will continue with the opening night film screening of the Dustin Harrison-Atlas directed film, New Chefs on the Block, at the Avalon Theatre. The film is about two chefs in Washington, DC struggling to open and maintain their first restaurants. The film features Aaron Silverman of Rose's Luxury and Frank Linn of Frankly...Pizza, there are also cameos from legendary chefs and restaurateurs Danny Meyer, Mike Isabella, and Michel Richard, andWashington Post food writer Tim Carman. 

On Saturday, October 13, the Chesapeake Film Festival expands to five venues: The Avalon Theatre and Academy Art Museum in Easton,The Dorchester Center for the Arts and Cambridge Premier Cinemas in Cambridge, and the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum in St. Michaels.

The festival wraps up with a ticketed reception and awards ceremony on Sunday, October 14 at the Avalon Theatre.
