Eastern Shore Public Library Waives Fines During Storm

Posted: Sep 11, 2018 11:12 AM -04:00 Updated:

ACCOMAC, Va.- The Eastern Shore Public Library, which has four locations on Virginia's Eastern Shore, encourages patrons to checkout library books, magazines, and DVD’s prior to the approaching storm.

Ebooks and magazines can be downloaded for free from the library website anytime that you have Internet connectivity.

If the library closes due to inclement weather, staff asks that books are not returned to the libraries until the library re-opens to regularly scheduled times.  Books can become damaged in book returns during heavy rains.  Library fines will be waived for any materials that become overdue when the library has emergency closings. Officials ask patrons to not risk their safety to return library items on time.

For more information, call the Eastern Shore Public Library at 757-787-3400 or visit www.espl.org.
