DOVER, Del.- Dover police and Delaware Probation and Parole arrested a 30-year-old man after he allegedly fled from officers and assaulted a probation officer.

The incident happened Thursday around 9:30 p.m. in the 100 block of South New Street.

According to police, probation officers attempted to arrest Brad Kimble, who was a wanted probationer. Kimble reportedly ran away from officers, and following the foot chase, he continued to be combative.

Kimble's combativeness led to a probation officer needing stitches for a lacerated lip, police said.

Kimble was committed to the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center in default of a $12,000 cash bond.
