EASTON, Md. -- Maryland State Police said one person has died and three others were injured in a car crash Friday afternoon.

It happened around 3:45 p.m. Friday on westbound Route 50 and Schwaninger Road.

According to police, officers got to the scene after the car looked like it had hit a guardrail and then continued into an Easton Utilities Pole.

Police said the driver, Marguerite Anna Colvin, was found unconscious in the car. Police who arrived on scene performed CPR before Colvin was taken to Easton Memorial Hospital, where she later died.

The passengers, Donna Knell, and two kids from Salisbury, were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Maryland State Police and the Talbot County Sheriff's Office responded to the crash. The investigation is ongoing.
