Revelation Craft Brewing Co. to Purchase 16 Mile Site in Georgetown

Posted: Updated:

GEORGETOWN, Del.- A little more than two months after 16 Mile Brewery in Georgetown shut its doors for good, Rehoboth Beach's Revelation Craft Brewing Company announced Friday it is purchasing the former brewing company's facility.

Revelation Craft Brewing Company President and Brewmaster Patrick Staggs said in a release that in just two-and-half-years, his company has quickly grown beyond its current capacity and with the recent closing of 16 Mile, Revelation saw an opportunity.

“The response to our beers here at the beach and beyond has blown us away and the growth has surpassed all expectations. We are proud of the experience and variety we offer," Staggs said. "In order to continue to deliver on the high standards we have set and reach our goals, we need the right type of capacity. This opportunity in Georgetown is absolutely the right place for the right time."

"Rehoboth is our home and we plan to continuously improve that home and always offer our guests the high quality beers and the comfortable experience they have grown to love," Staggs continued. "The purchase in Georgetown is a key part in helping us secure that goal for the future."

Staggs said that following the acquisition of the Georgetown facility, Revelation plans to fill the void left when 16 Mile closed by offering a full menu on site, which will match the quality and variety of the beers to the culinary equivalents. Staggs also said that his brewery will immediately be undertaking an expansion to include an outdoor seating area and events space.

Anticipated opening date in Georgetown will be spring 2019. For information and updates go to and
