Updated: Two Sussex County Women Arrested for Burglaries

GEORGETOWN, Del.- Delaware State Police have arrested two women wanted in connection with a pair of burglaries that occurred in early November in Georgetown.

On Tuesday night, Dec. 4, Kathy Hunsucker, 45, of Selbyville, was taken into custody without incident on Power Plant Road in Dagsboro. The next day, 49-year-old Christina Harvey, of Dagsboro, turned herself in at Troop 4. 

Police said Hunsucker and Harvey were the suspect in two burglaries that occurred on Leah Street at the Fish Hook Mobile Home Park. 

According to police, on both occasions, the women forced entry into the homes and stole purses, jewelry and other items before leaving the scene. 

Following their arrests, Hunsuck and Harvey were each charged with two counts of second-degree burglary, possession of burglary tools, two counts of felony theft, two counts of second-degree conspiracy and criminal mischief. 

Hunsucker was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court 2 and received $16,500 unsecured bond on the above charges, however was committed to the Dolores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution for Violation of Probation charges.

Harvey was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court 2 and committed to the Dolores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution on $25,700.00 secured bond.

Troopers said this case continues to remain under investigation regarding these two suspects in connection with additional burglaries in the western and southern Sussex County area, particularly to Mobile Home Parks.  Anyone with information is asked to contact Troop 4 Detective Powell at 302-856-5850.  Information may also be provided by calling Delaware crime stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333 or via the internet at http://www.delaware.crimestoppersweb.com
