Delaware State Police Troopers Make Holiday Visits

Posted: Updated:

DOVER, Del.- Delaware State Police troopers spent the past week visiting schools and hospitals across the state in an attempt to bring holiday cheer.

Some troopers came in costume, varying from princesses like Snow White, to Mickey Mouse, to even Darth Vader. In New Castle County, the troopers visited Nemours/Alfred I. du Pont Hospital for Children for a luncheon. There, children played games, made crafts, and visited with Santa. Santa then delivered presents to over 200 children in the hospital.

In Kent County, troopers escorted Santa and the other characters to the Children's Secret Garden Day Care, the Kent County Community School and the Charlton School, the latter two schools designed for students with special needs. In Sussex County, troopers visited the Morris Elementary School in Lincoln, as well as the Stockley Center and the Howard T. Ennis School in Georgetown. The Howard T. Ennis School is also designed for special needs students. The Stockley Center is a care center for disabled adults.

The holiday visits are an annual tradition for the Delaware State Police. This year troopers were joined by Miss Delaware 2018, Joanna Wicks.
