Del. Democrats Sworn in to Statewide Offices

DOVER, Del.- Delaware has some new blood in some of its statewide offices. Three Democrats were sworn in to their offices Tuesday.

Kathy McGuiness was inaugurated as auditor. She is the first female auditor in Delaware history.

Kathy Jennings became attorney general. She is the second woman and third consecutive Democrat to hold the office. Former attorney general Matt Denn declared he would not run for re-election, making way for a four-way primary that earned Jennings her party's nomination in September.

Colleen Davis assumed the treasurer's spot. She takes over after denying Republican Ken Simpler a bid for a second term as treasurer.

The Democratic Party now holds all nine statewide offices, a feat believed to have last been achieved when Republicans did so in 1970.
