DSP: Shots Fired During Felton Home Invasion

Posted: Updated:

FELTON, Del.- Delaware State Police are investigating a home invasion in which shots were fired early Wednesday morning in Kent County.

Police say at approximately 12:46 a.m. troopers were dispatched to the home in the 100 block of Gelden Road.

Three men ages, 20, 29 and 67, and one 44-year-old woman, were at the home at the time of the incident, according to police.

Through interviews it was determined that between four to six men gained entry into the home by kicking open a door.

It was indicated that at least three of the suspects were armed with handguns.

While one of the male victims was in a bedroom attempting to hold the door shut, one of the suspects reportedly fired a shot at the door.

When the suspects were advised that the police had been contacted, they fled from the residence.

As the suspects were fleeing, witnesses told police one of them discharged their firearm outside of the home.

There were no reports of any injuries and the suspects did not take anything from the home.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact, Troop 3, Criminal Investigative Unit, Detective M. Weinstein at 302-698-8443.
