Potential Seaford Lodging Tax Moves Forward

Posted: Updated:
SEAFORD, Del.- The city of Seaford is one step closer to possibly imposing a new lodging tax.

The city council unanimously passed a proposed charter change Monday night. The change would pave way for the city to create a lodging tax of no more than three percent.

Seaford's city manager says the move would add revenue without placing the burden on locals.

It's important to note that just because the city has taken this step, it does not mean it will automatically create the new tax. There's no word yet on when the city council could take the next steps.
