Salisbury Man Convicted in 2017 Home Burglary

Posted: Updated:

SALISBURY, Md. -- The Office of the State's Attorney for Wicomico County said a Salisbury man was convicted by a jury Wednesday after he stole firearms, ammunition, and a safe from a home in 2017.

According to the State's Attorney, Richard Thurston, 59 of Salisbury, was found guilty on several gun and burglary-related charges.

The charges stem from a July 29, 2017 incident in which the Wicomico County Sheriff's Office said Thurston broke into someone's home in Pittsville and stole firearms, ammunition, and a safe.

Thurston was prohibited from having guns or ammunition, after police said he was convicted of first degree burglary in Harford County in 1997.

The judge in this latest conviction ordered a pre-sentence investigation before Thurston's sentencing.
