POCOMOKE CITY, Md--Pocomoke City officially has a new police chief. Lee Brumley took over the position this week and he's already hard at work. The chief says he'll spend the first few weeks meeting with officers and the community.

"I will have the officers do foot patrols in the neighborhood, like bike patrols. I want the people and the officers to get to know each other better," says Chief Brumley.

The chief returns to Pocomoke after working with the Somerset County Sheriff's office. He has a close relationship with the Worcester County Sheriff, Matt Crisafulli.

He hopes they can work together in improving Pocomoke City.

"I hope to see if there is a drug problem in the city and if there is a problem, we are going to come up with a solution to prevent it from getting worst," says Chief Brumley.

Business owner Marc Scher says he's excited about the new chief, mainly because of his previous work history.

"I think that's always a good thing to have somebody that is familiar with the town, that knows everybody," says Scher.
