Closing Arguments Heard in Second Round of Trials of Deadly 2017 Prison Riot

Posted: Updated:

WILMINGTON, Del. - Closing arguments were heard Monday in the second trial of the deadly 2017 Delaware prison riot.

Court records indicate a count of "intentional murder" has been dropped against each of the four inmates currently on trial in the death of James T. Vaughn Correctional Officer Lt. Steven Floyd.

All four of inmates are still accused of "felony murder" and the murder of a correctional officer.

Each of the inmates tried in the first round of the riot trials also avoided convictions of "intentional murder."

The trial will not go to jury deliberations just yet; closing arguments continue Tuesday in court.
