Magnolia Man Charged With Fifth DUI Offense

MILFORD, Del.- A Magnolia man has been arrested and charged with his fifth DUI after Milford police officers found him driving erratically on North DuPont Boulevard.

According to the Milford Police Department, a patrol officer noticed a Chevrolet Suburban pull into the right lane in the area of NW 10th Street on Feb. 7.

The officer reported seeing the SUV drift into the lane of the patrol vehicle forcing the officer to slow down.

Police say the officer pulled the driver over, conducted a search, and took William E. Bronson, 55, of Magnolia, into custody.

Bronson was charged with:

  • 5th offense driving a vehicle under the influence of alcohol
  • Failure to have insurance identification in possession
  • Failure to have registration card in possession
  • Failure when moving right, left or turning to signal continuously not    300 feet or 1/2 mile before turning
  • Improper lane change. 

Police say Bronson was presented at the Justice of the Peace Court #7, where bail was set at $2,504 secured. 

Bronson was committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution and is scheduled to appear at the Kent County Court of Common Pleas on Friday, Feb. 15 for a preliminary hearing.
